Overview

"Do It Big" is a Netherlands-based design agency renowned for its visually appealing interfaces and creative solutions. Despite their excellent designs, the agency struggled with low conversion rates, hindering their client acquisition. I was brought on board as a UX strategy designer to revamp the agency's UI/UX, aiming to improve user engagement and increase conversion rates.

Challenge

Objective: To enhance the user experience and rebrand the agency's online presence to boost client acquisition and improve conversion rates by at least 30%.

Key Metrics: Conversion rate, user engagement, client acquisition.

Challenges:

  • Identifying and addressing pain points in the existing design.
  • Balancing aesthetic appeal with functional usability.
  • Ensuring a seamless user journey from discovery to conversion.

Problem

Despite having a visually appealing interface, the agency faced the following issues:

  1. Low Conversion Rate: The website attracted visitors but failed to convert them into clients.
  2. Complex Navigation: Users found it challenging to navigate through the portfolio and service offerings.
  3. Lack of Clear Call-to-Action (CTA): The existing design lacked compelling CTAs, leading to missed opportunities for client engagement.
  4. Inconsistent Branding: The branding did not consistently reflect the agency's value proposition, resulting in a disconnect between the agency’s identity and user perception.

Design Process

1. Research and Analysis

  • User Research: Conducted interviews and surveys with current and potential clients to understand their needs and pain points.
  • Competitive Analysis: Analyzed competitors' websites to identify best practices and areas of improvement.
  • Analytics Review: Studied website analytics to pinpoint drop-off points and user behavior patterns.

2. Ideation and Concept Development

  • Personas: Created user personas to guide the design process and ensure the needs of target users were met.
  • User Journey Mapping: Mapped out the user journey to identify critical touchpoints and opportunities for improvement.
  • Wireframes: Developed wireframes to establish the basic structure and layout of the redesigned website.

3. Design and Prototyping

  • UI Design: Created high-fidelity designs with a focus on clean aesthetics, intuitive navigation, and compelling CTAs.
  • Branding: Revamped the branding to ensure consistency and alignment with the agency’s values and mission.
  • Prototyping: Built interactive prototypes to test and refine the user experience before final implementation.

4. Testing and Validation

  • Usability Testing: Conducted usability tests with real users to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
  • A/B Testing: Implemented A/B testing to compare the new design with the old one and measure performance improvements.
  • Iteration: Based on feedback and test results, iterated on the design to fine-tune the user experience.

Results

The rebranding and redesign efforts led to significant improvements:

  • Increased Conversion Rate: The conversion rate improved by 30%, exceeding the initial goal.
  • Enhanced User Engagement: Users spent more time on the website, exploring the portfolio and services.
  • Improved Client Acquisition: The agency saw a notable increase in client inquiries and new project sign-ups.
  • Positive Feedback: Received positive feedback from both clients and internal stakeholders on the new design and branding.

Conclusion

Rebranding "Do It Big" with a user-centric approach not only enhanced the agency’s online presence but also directly contributed to its business growth. The focus on usability, clear CTAs, and consistent branding played crucial roles in increasing conversions and client acquisitions. This case study highlights the importance of a well-thought-out UX strategy in achieving business objectives and improving overall user satisfaction.
